Linetype Scale Factor - Hidden Line remains continuous
Hi to all Auto-CAD users:
I am presently working on my project when I tried to change a continuous polyline to hidden, the dash line remains a continuous straight line. I already change the scale factor to a lower and higher no. but the properties of the line on the screen and on the printed papers remain straight solid line.
I will appreciate any possible clues from anyone.
Thanks,
Ted

In the property box of that line you can set a LTscale per item, is that set to 1?

Re: Linetype Scale Factor - Hidden Line remains continuous
Does the polyline have a width??
And have you checked the ltscale factor in the propertiesfield of your object? Although the global ltscale (what you enter on the commandline) can set to a value, you can override this by selecting the object and change the ltscale in the propertiesfield, maybe this one has been set wrong...Last edited by Buffeldrek; 2006-09-13 at 07:00 AM.

Is the line flat. I have seen lines that dont look lihe they take the properties you associate with them because they have different start and end z coordinates.

Hello.
Is that object parallel to the UCS? If not it could be a 3dpoly or line and because of that you can't see the dashed.
Or try this sequence in the command line, pedit, "select the poly", L (of Ltype gen), on.
If a poly as too many vertex's and if the linetype generation is not on you won't be able to see the dashed.

Hi Ted
Please note I have *moved* this thread from the CAD Mgmt. General forum to this one, as I feel this particular forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.
Thanks, Mike

Re: Linetype Scale Factor - Hidden Line remains continuous
Hi to all,
Thank you for all your support and quick response from different perspective related to my posted issue. I think I finally realized that I am presently working on my floor plan using 3-D UCS icon. As a general rule do you think other lines rather than continuous line or poly are the only lines needed to create 3D object? If not how can I view dash line if I need to use hidden lines or 3-D polyline?
Thanks again for all possible response.

Re: Linetype Scale Factor - Hidden Line remains continuous
As you're working in 3D, is your shaemode anything other than 2dwireframe?
Generally, linetypes only display in 2dwireframe.
